Seems like this fall has been rather off track this year. Not sure if its me or the fact that all the important weather elements of having a beautiful fall have not come together. I think it’s a bit of both. I have been so involved in work, including my upcoming website, that I haven’t had much chance to really go out and investigate fall.
I also made a promised to you, my readers and myself that I would add more photojournalistic articles to my blog. With that said, I will remind myself from time to time, this blog is also a photography journal with pictures and stories to tell and share. with you. So, without further ado.
I decided to stick around the neighborhood and go off to look around and see what I could find. My Mother, the late Martha McKeen Welch years ago past along to me some wisdom and great advice. She said and I quote. “Remember Mardi., You don’t have to go to far a field to find what may inspire you through the lens.” Take a walk outside and look around your own backyard. Stop and listen. Take a deep breath and smell the air around you. I come to find out this wisdom of course applied to other things in my life that I know now. You will be quite surprise how all the elements come together. Sometimes it takes time and patience. You have to work hard to find how the pieces of the puzzle will fit together in this particular case, from an artistic point of view. When it comes together, the end result can be just magical and rewarding!
Come join me in a fall walk through several fields and meadows of southern Connecticut.
