Purple Martins Are Aerial Insectivores
They catch large flying insects found in the air mass. All aerial insectivores in Connecticut are in a serious and somewhat mysterious population decline as pointed out by the Connecticut State of Birds 2103 report produced by the Connecticut Audubon Society.
